Hydrostatic pressure testing is the most reliable method for verifying the structural integrity and leak-tightness of pressure-containing equipment. According to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and international pressure vessel standards, the test involves filling the vessel with water and pressurizing it to a specified level — typically 1.5 times the maximum allowable working pressure — and holding that pressure for a defined duration while inspecting for leaks, deformation, or other anomalies.
At Hunan Dawning, this test is not an optional step or a spot-check procedure. It is mandatory, 100% inspection for every filter leaving the factory.
"We don't test a sample. We test every single unit," said the quality control manager at Hunan Dawning. "No filter is shipped until it has passed the hydrostatic test with zero leakage. This is not just about meeting standards — it's about meeting our customers' expectations for reliability."

The photograph from the company's testing bay tells a story of precision and accountability. Water filling the tank, pressure gauges monitoring the load, and a technician carefully inspecting every seam — these are the moments that define Hunan Dawning's approach to quality.
The test is conducted in a dedicated testing area, with all safety protocols observed. Filters are filled with water, and the pressure is gradually increased to the target level. During the holding period, the technician examines:
✅ All weld seams — ensuring no pinhole leaks or cracks
✅ Flange connections — verifying proper gasket sealing
✅ Threaded ports and fittings — checking for secure seals
✅ Tank body — observing for any deformation or bulging
"Even a microscopic leak in a weld seam can develop into a major problem over months of operation," the QC manager explained. "Our hydrostatic test catches those issues before they ever reach our client. We treat every filter as if it will be installed in the most demanding environment — because for many of our clients, it will be."
